Migrating from Octopress 2 to Jekyll

I’m migrating my blog https://blog.michielborkent.nl/ which is based on vanilla Octopress 2 to Jekyll.

Is there maybe some theme that provides:

  • more or less the same look
  • side menu with Recent Posts and (optionally) Github Repos
  • when you visit the main page, it shows the most recent post?

I’ve migrated all my posts and they seem to work, but it’s still the minima theme:

can’t you just take the css from the old site and use it on the new site? then look at the existing sites html to make a layout that does the same thing?
