I always wanted to start a tech blog and do my own webhosting but found LAMP to be waaay too much for me. I discovered Jekyll and that was it, everything I needed. I could focus on the content and Jekyll takes care of the design, it’s a beautiful thing

A personal blog (“Weiqing’s Blog - freedom”) that mixes practical technical notes (e.g., Word long-document thesis formatting, video encoding, networking/dev topics) with longer reflections on finance, society, and everyday life. The site is built as a static Jekyll blog using the Minimal Mistakes theme. Interesting things I learned while making it: how to structure posts with categories/tags and YAML front matter, customize a mature Jekyll theme without breaking builds, and keep a lightweight writing workflow (Markdown → GitHub → published site).
