Commits through command line not getting reflected in the posts folder

I have added a new post to my _posts folder and have made a commit using the my terminal, but the changes to my _post folder are not being reflected in Github. Request you to help me fix this?

git push

Yes, I did. Even though the git status shows the changes made and git commit - m makes the commit, the changes aren’t reflected in my posts folder.
