# You don't have write permissions for the /Library/Ruby/Gems/2.6.0 directory

Hello,

I am fairly new to Jekyll and received this error trying to install it.

I wondered if anyone can help me, I’m running a Mac and am not very PC savvy so instructions would need to be very simple for.

If you can help, I’d greatly appreciate it.

I’m not a mac user, but I found [this detailed answer on stackoverflow](https://stackoverflow.com/a/54873916/11082237) by simply googling the title of your post.

Please follow the instructions inthe post and tell us if you get stuck at any point
