Migrating from google sites - navigation, tables of content, starter-examples

Hi!

I’ve got a site like https://sites.google.com/site/samskrtamsfo/home , which I want to migrate to jeykyll. Could the experts here guide me regarding how to accomplish that? (I mean what theme to use etc…)

Some constraints -

  • I want a similar (if not better) look and feel - I want to be able to easily navigate (think 4-level trees) to various pages. This should ideally be mobile friendly, as in https://html5up.net/ . Which theme would you suggest?

  • Users should be able to search the site, as in Google sites.

  • It would be nice to have an edit link on each page, directing the user to the appropriate github page.

  • How to generate auto-updated table-of-contents of the type seen in https://sites.google.com/site/samskrtamsfo/prayogah/tantram-agamah ?

I can use various online tools to convert the HTML to markdown or rst, then manually find-and-replace url references, remove unsupported elements (such as embedded videos, tables of content…). But I don’t know much beyond that…
